The SL|a team did a trip to Stradbroke Island today as the beautiful Bambara St project is nearing completion and we couldn’t wait to see how things were coming along. Below are some photos from site which give you a sneak peak into a very exciting project in an equally exciting location!

We are very happy to announce that the 105 Villiers project is currently featuring on Contemporist…
105 Villiers involved a very contemporary conversion of a pre-war cottage into a light, modern and minimal family home. The house explores dramatic volumes and lightwells to enhance the living experience in a heavily constrained inner-city site.

The team at Shaun Lockyer Architects would like to announce that on Friday night our One Wybelenna Project recieved the AIA Regional Commendation for 2013.
The standard of entries was exceptionally high this year and it was an honor to see our work being presented both at the Awards night and also at the exhibition held in the Queensland State Library last week.
We are all very proud of this achievement and now keep our fingers crossed as we progress to the Queensland Architecture Awards to be announced in Brisbane on 21 June.

One Wybelenna - 2013 AIA Regional Commendation
The latest BMag features the “River Room” – a dramatic extension and renovation to a 1980s cottage in Chelmer, damaged by the January 2011 Brisbane floods.

Urbis Magazine Online is currently featuring an article on the Mooloomba House , appropriately entitled ‘A Place in the Sun’. This house is about the idea of the organic evolution of the Straddie Shack but in a contemporary vernacular. The house consists of a series of pavilions around an east facing courtyard, each with a distinct function and character. The form of the house is deliberately eclectic with materials and colours deliberately playful and plural in their point of reference.
