Monaise involves the transformation of a 1921 period home in Ascot into a 21st Century contemporary home. The architecture is one of sympathetic juxtaposition, exploring a language of craft and materiality that aspires to transcend fashion or trend. A rich palette of vernacular materials is offset against the new brickwork, marble, timber and off-form concrete. A conscious attempt has been made to honour the history of the home, while making decisions that support a young family with modern aspirations.

In a world so often lacking in care and attention, it was truly refreshing to work with a team so unflinchingly focussed on producing our ideal outcome…
